Guidelines To Finding A Quality Designer For Your Website
This isn’t something that should be taken lightly, especially if it’s an important website like a professional or business site. This is going to be something that a lot of people are going to be seeing in the future so it’s important that it is a nice site, with a good template, friendly content, and that everything is in tip top condition. Now you could very well just hire anyone online. I wouldn’t. But you could if you wanted to. Who knows what kind of site you would end up with though!
Instead, I would suggest that you follow some of the essential guidelines to hiring a person for website design. First and foremost I think it’s important that you find someone in your location. They don’t have to be down the street, but I do think that a localized company would do you better than someone in a far off land somewhere. Personally for me, I have a hard time talking to people either online or offline that speak in different languages, have accents or use anything BUT English.
And I don’t think you want a language barrier to be in the way. So try to hire someone in your area. You can do this very easily by looking for people in your country such as; Web Developers Ireland or in your city such as; Website Design Cavan (which is in Ireland!) The second thing I would suggest looking for is a company that has a lot of information on their site and also offers some kind of a portfolio. This thing doesn’t have to have a million projects in it. That isn’t necessarily what a portfolio is for.
A portfolio is for showcasing the companies “best” work so to speak. Stuff that they did a really awesome job on, or stuff that is unique and different. If you like their work, awesome; go ahead and contact them! The third thing you should take a look at are the prices. Are there any available on site? Usually what a website company will do is list a number of packages available that you can add stuff on to. However, if they don’t have web design prices or website design prices its okay to call them. Just because a site doesn’t have prices ON site doesn’t mean they are a bad site. They probably do a lot of customization work and really can’t PUT up a package price!
The fourth and most important thing you should be looking for is some sort of an option to contact them through either email or phone. If its long distance for you and you don’t have long distance ask them if they can call you. Or better yet, get something like Skype so both of you can talk to each other without either of you getting charged a ton of money for the call! After you find a site that has these three guidelines it’s a good idea to go ahead and either contact them or do the quote option. This is going to allow you to tell them what you need and they can A) give you an estimate and B) tell you if they can accomplish the job or not!
